Morgan's Twenty Questions
1 -
What country are you from?
I was brought up in the beautiful islands of Avalon, but some have said I have
the heart of an Inishman.
2 -
How would you physically describe yourself?
I’m quite tall, and I dress as well as my purse can afford, which is not so
well as some folk, but not so bad as others. I haven’t the time to follow fashion
like some of the fops at court, but I keep myself well turned out. My long dark
hair is tied back and the ladies have commented that I have a devilishly nice
smile.
3 -
Do you have any recurring mannerisms?
My teachers at school always said they’d wipe that grin off my face. A few men
have tried as well, but I just can’t help smirking. Life is just too funny sometimes.
4 -
What is your main motivation?
I’m looking to have fun and see the world. I love the adventure of travel.
5 -
What is your greatest strength, and weakness?
Misplaced bravery and bravado, they are both strength and weakness, and will
get him in trouble.
6 -
What are your most and least favourite things?
Adventure. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it!
7 -
What is your psychology?
I am rather a care free person, always passing from one thing to the next. Some
would say that means I lack staying power, but I’ve never tried staying around
so I wouldn’t know. I admit I rather lack dedication but I do remain reasonably
honest and loyal.
8 -
What is your single greatest fear?
That I will never love again, or that I will one day know everything and never
be surprised.
9 -
What are your highest ambitions, and greatest love?
I have little ambition, so perhaps to acquire some could be my quest.
10 -
What is your opinion of your country?
Which one? Avalon is a beautiful place, but it is full of unearthly creatures
with little business being on this planet. The Montaigne, well, they are just
a sneer with better fashion sense.
11 -
Do you have any prejudices?
If the church leaves me alone, I have no problem with it. However, anyone who
sits on a fortune he didn’t earn (by any means, fair or foul) isn’t worthy of
my respect.
12 -
Where do your loyalties lie?
Myself, and the few I call friend or family. There is no one else you can rely
on.
13 -
Are you in love, betrothed or even married?
I’m always in love, but I doubt I will ever marry!
14 -
What is your family like?
They are a fallen folk, not in my eyes, but in the eyes of so many others. So
my family are strong, and keep their dignity. The Montaigne blood we have has
made us a target for gentle persecution for at least a generation. Granted the
fortune we are heir to was stolen from honest Avalon folk, but we are just as
honest and Avalon now as those it was taken from. Fate plays funny tricks.
15 -
How would your parents describe you?
They would most likely be doing so to the authorities. So they would describe
me very inaccurately.
16 -
Are you a gentleman/woman?
Well, I look like a gentleman, and I act like a gentleman, but no sir, I am
far from being a gentleman.
17 -
How religious are you, and which church sect do you follow?
I follow the Church of Avalon, because they leave me alone. The Vaticine church
is there so snobs and nobles can feel superior, and the Objectionists do the
same for the poor.
18 -
Are you a member of a guild, gentleman’s club or secret society?
Well, yes and no. I’ve never been one for joining anything, but a man needs
friends. So I do a lot of work for the Explorer’s society and the Invisible
College. They send me with messages, and I don’t ask any questions. Works quite
well for us both, and it never hurts to be owed a few favours.
19 -
What do you think of sorcery?
Who cares? It is of use to me, but it is no different to having a pretty face,
and only half as useful as that. The church can rail against it all it likes;
I’ve done far worse than tear small holes in reality.
20 -
What advice do you need to hear?
Find a plan for yourself instead of bumming around. It can’t work forever, and
this association with so many groups will get you in trouble.
